Shoalhaven City Libraries will conduct two vital literacy programs to help young children and toddlers on the path to lifelong reading.

Council’s innovative Hush-A-Bye Baby literacy program will run again from Wednesday 21 July for nine weeks.

Early childhood literacy teacher Colleen Langan conducts the program which is suitable for children aged nought to 18 months and is held at Shoalhaven Libraries Nowra branch.

The Ring O’ Roses literacy program is a nine week program conducted by Colleen Langan. The program encourages parents and carers to engage and interact with their toddlers through picture books, songs and rhyme.

The program will begin on Wednesday 20 October at 10 and will run for nine weeks. Each session will last for about 45 minutes and is followed by refreshments.

Bookings are essential for both programs as spaces are limited, contact Council’s Librarian on 4429 3712 to book a place. This is a successful program and parents who have attended in the past have visibly noticed their child’s joy when interacting with books in this way.
